Software Engineer in Melbourne

Juan Valencia

Backend developer building AI-ready systems, APIs, integrations, and game technology.

I build practical backend systems with an eye for reliability, product flow, and the people who use them. I currently work in game technology at WorldWinner while building CRM and webhook-driven products, with a creative life in salsa that keeps me close to community and live feedback.

Melbourne-based software engineer focused on backend systems, AI-enabled workflows, secure integrations, and game technology.

Salsa and social dance sit beside the technical work as a creative layer, not the main headline.

Released in progress

Perfection is the enemy of progress.

This landing page is live on purpose while it keeps improving. I would rather share a clear starting point, learn from it, and keep refining it than wait until every section feels final.

Three branches I am building around

My work sits at the intersection of backend systems, AI-enabled workflows, and game technology. I care about systems that are useful, secure, observable, and simple enough to operate.

01

AI-enabled backend systems

This branch is under construction and will be shaped into a public-safe showcase as the work becomes ready to share.

Coming soon.

02

Backend systems and integrations

I design backend flows around clear data models, reliable APIs, webhook security, idempotency, deployment discipline, and operator-friendly admin surfaces.

Current work: Django CRM with Instagram webhooks, tracked links, consent capture, Render deployment, and production security planning.

03

Game technology and interactive systems

My game technology background shapes how I think about trust, progression, reward flows, player-facing systems, and backend authority for interactive products.

More case-study detail coming soon.

Experience

Backend experience with a game technology edge

At WorldWinner, I work in a game technology environment where backend systems support competitive, interactive products. That experience influences how I approach software: the backend needs to be reliable, explainable, and careful with state because users feel system behavior immediately.

Alongside that, I am focused on backend engineering, AI-enabled product workflows, secure integrations, and practical deployment. I like work where APIs, databases, external services, and user journeys all need to line up cleanly.

Case studies and project notes

A small set of public-safe case studies and write-ups will appear here as they are ready.

Instagram Salsa CRM

A Django-based CRM for turning Instagram class interest into a consent-based follow-up flow. The system receives Instagram webhook events, matches campaign keywords, records leads, sends tracked links, and captures email expression of interest through a CRM-owned form.

Django, PostgreSQL, Render, Instagram webhooks, HMAC verification, idempotency, tracked links, admin operations.

Creative layer

Salsa, social dance, and community

Dance is part of how I stay connected to people, practice, and live feedback. Salsa and social dance give me another way to build community, create content, and understand what makes an experience feel human.

This side of my work is secondary on the site, but it matters: it shows the creative, social, and community-driven part of how I move through projects.

Creative projects are under construction.
